Early help if provided by 'Compass'

Compass is an Early Help team, which sits within preventative services.

Compass provides information and advice regarding early help both directly to families, as well as to professionals who are supporting them to achieve meaningful and positive outcomes without the need for statutory intervention.

The purpose of Compass is to navigate to the right help, in the right way at the right time.

Every nursery, preschool, primary and secondary school in South Gloucestershire has a named Compass Partnership Worker who professionals can contact for early help advice and support.

Families can contact the Access and Response Team (ART) for information/advice and support on 01454 866000 or  accessandresponse@southglos.gov.uk 

 

inourplace | Solihull Approach – South Gloucestershire | inourplace - FREE online courses (e-modules) for all parents, carers, grandparents and teens, nurturing emotional health and wellbeing from bump to 19+ years. *This is an online self-navigation parenting course, which can be accessed via this link.

Please click on the below links to view the flyers for the next Parents Plus Teens courses, which will be starting in May.  One course is being run in the mornings in the North (Patchway) and the other will run in the evening in the South (Staple Hill)).  This course is for parents of young people aged 11-17.

Families Plus Parenting Groups Offer

 

  • Online Solihull Parenting resources – Free Online resources that parents, carers and families with children of all ages to support the emotional health and wellbeing of their children.
  • Understanding your baby / Understanding your Child / Circle of Security – Groups for families with a child under 5 – the slides give more information about each of the groups.
  • Parenting Plus groups – There is a group for parents/carers of Primary aged children (PPC) and Secondary aged children (PPT) – the slides share more information on the groups and what they cover.
  • Parenting When Separated – Support for parents to learn practical steps to help them co-parent when separated or divorced to help manage and mitigate the emotional impact on your children to help them cope and thrive.
