Reporting your child’s absence
At present, the vast majority of parents call in to school to let us know if their child is unwell. These communications are extremely important so that we know where your child is and how long she or he is likely to be absent from school. The school will contact you if we have not had any message from you by 10.00am.
From 16th January, we would like to ask you to email rather than phone the school if you are able. Emails are a much easier way of gaining the information quickly and efficiently, rather than listening to voicemails. Nowadays, of course, most of us have access to emails on our phones. The dedicated absence email address at school is dow-studentabsence@cset.co.uk
When you email, please give the following information: your child’s name and tutor group, a brief reason for absence and when you expect them to return to school. You must do this for each day your child is absent.
If you do not have access to email, then the absence phone line for school will still be available as previously.
Many thanks for helping us to make our school systems more efficient.
